An overview of the Pondicherry interpretation of quantum mechanics is presented.
\nThis interpretation proceeds from the recognition that the fundamental theoretical
\nframework of physics is a probability algorithm, which serves to describe an
\nobjective fuzziness (the literal meaning of Heisenberg?s term ?Unsch\u00e4rfe,? usually
\nmistranslated as ?uncertainty?) by assigning objective probabilities to the possible
\noutcomes of unperformed measurements. Although it rejects attempts to construe
\nquantum states as evolving ontological states, it arrives at an objective description
\nof the quantum world that owes nothing to observers or the goings-on in physics
\nlaboratories. In fact, unless such attempts are rejected, quantum theory?s true
\nontological implications cannot be seen. Among these are the radically relational
\nnature of space, the numerical identity of the corresponding relata, the incomplete
\nspatiotemporal di\ufb00erentiation of the physical world, and the consequent top-down
\nstructure of reality, which de\ufb01es attempts to model it from the bottom up, whether
\non the basis of an intrinsically di\ufb00erentiated spacetime manifold or out of a multitude
\nof individual building blocks.<\/p>\n
